J Sheekey Oyster Bar - 33-34 St. Martin's Court London WC2N 4AL
Welcome to J Sheekey Oyster Bar
We are paying tribute to all things Scottish from Sunday, 25 January to Saturday, 28 February with a special Scottish menu, in addition to the other dishes of fish, shellfish and salads available on the menu. Click here for more details.
Opened in 2008 and extended to reveal an open kitchen in 2012, J Sheekey Oyster Bar is in the heart of Covent Garden, around the corner from the cinemas of Leicester Square, the museums of Trafalgar Square, 5 minutes from Charing Cross and a stone’s throw from the west end theatres.
The oyster bar specialises in shellfish and small plates of fish and vegetables. Oysters are served in various guises – natives from September to April and rocks throughout the year. The famous Sheekey fish pie is on the menu and wines are served by the bottle, carafe or glass, with over 50 wines available by the glass.
Open from 12 noon to late every day, this is the perfect place to drop in for a snack pre or post theatre or cinema, or something much more substantial. The terrace is a real gem, nestling between Charing Cross Road and St Martin’s Lane, where the full oyster bar menu is available.
Alison Jackson’s photographic portraits of 21st century theatrical luminaries from John Hurt and Eileen Atkins to Orlando Bloom and Rosamund Pike adorn the walls, as well as one area dedicated to theatrically-themed caricatures from the 1930s, curated by The Cartoon Museum. The Oyster Bar is ideally located between Leicester Square and Covent Garden, in the heart of theatre land, so that people can pop in to refuel before or after a visit to the galleries on Trafalgar Square, the cinemas on Leicester Square or the theatres in the area.
Our fish are responsibly caught from sustainable sources
